Stef Throlson Williams is an Adult Nurse Practitioner board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996. After working many years as an RN in specialties including telemetry, pulmonology, orthopedics, neurology, ENT, plastic and general surgery, Stef went back to school to obtain her Master of Science degree in Nursing, which she received in 2009 from the University of Colorado, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Stef’s specialties as a nurse practitioner have included family medicine, orthopedics, spinal surgery, pain management, neurology, and psychiatry. In addition to direct patient care, she has functioned as lead staff educator by authoring programs of education and training for staff. She has served on nursing advisory boards, worked on healthcare budget development projects, and been a consultant for startup healthcare organizations. Her experience also includes researcher and co-author and her work has been published in evidence-based medical journals. In addition, Stef has functioned as an advocate for patients both in the community and patients going through transitions of care within the healthcare system. Stef currently serves as VP of Recruitment and Business strategy for The Physician Advocate, LLC.
Stef is a firm believer in finding a work-life balance to optimize one’s quality of life, and believes that providers should have autonomy and flexibility when it comes to structuring their work environments. For this reason, she partnered with The Physician Advocate, LLC to aid physicians towards regaining independence and satisfaction in their careers, finding alternative solutions to practicing fee-for-service medicine, and leveraging their invaluable skills and knowledge to obtain their professional goals.
